Rainbow Gore Makeup

I wanted to do a makeup look in honor of the struggles that people in the LGBT community go through since June is Pride month. I have also been craving doing some good gore makeup as well. So here is the idea that I came up with!

It took me about 2 hours to do but I am very pleased with the results. It turned out just like I wanted it to.

Special FX

I love all aspects of makeup but I do have a soft spot for special effects makeup. I have been thoroughly fascinated by it and really enjoy practicing it. It all started a few years ago when I went to my first Zombie Walk. I have explored and practiced it ever since then. I feel that I get better and better at it the more I practice.

Here are just a

few of my very first practices with the craft. These were done with very low cost items. Liquid latex, toilet paper, some paint and makeup brushes and a bruise stack of cream paints.

I am very lucky to have a very patient daughter who lets me practice on her. She thinks this makeup stuff is pretty cool!

I plan to share my work and the things that I have learned with you here in hopes that someone else can learn and grow their special effects abilities as well. I will warn that some of the effects can look very real and gruesome at times so I would not read the blogs if you have a sensitive to gore stomach.
